Connie Craw

 Cornelia Jane Chapin, 80

Of Hadlyme, died peacefully at CT Hospice in Branford on September 11, 2017 surrounded by family and friends. A graduate of The Emma Willard School, she attended Vassar College, graduated from Syracuse University, and received her Masters in Education from Central CT State University. She was a retired schoolteacher, administrative assistant, and most recently a loving eldercare giver. She is survived by her daughter, Cornelia "Nelie" Doak-Brown and son-in-law Chris Devlin Brown of Old Lyme; brother Jeffrey Craw of Coventry, RI and his wife Wendy; sister Katrinka Craw Greger of Stonington and her sons Michael, Jeffrey, and Peter Greger, daughter Suzanna Compositor, and many grand nieces and nephews who were special to her. Her beloved son Christopher, and parents, Reverend Harold and Janet Craw predeceased her. Cornelia loved nature and had a special connection to the CT River, which she could view from her loft deck. Like the river, she was a free flowing and vibrant spirit who lived life on her own terms. Cornelia's family is grateful for the loving care she received at Middlesex Hospital and CT Hospice, as well as the many wonderful friends who kept her close in their prayers. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Ray of Light Farm in East Haddam CT, or CT Hospice of Branford. A Memorial Service will be planned for a later date at the Hadlyme Congregational Church.
