Shirley A. Woodruff Fitzsimons, 74, formerly of Bridgewater, wife of the late George T. Fitzsimons, died at The Kent on Saturday, November 19th. She was born in Danbury on May 20, 1937, daughter of the late Weldon and Dorothy (Thompson) Woodruff. She was a graduate of Danbury High School, Class of 1955.
She worked for many years as a proofreader for the New Milford Times.
She will be sadly missed by her stepdaughters, Cathy A. Wilson, Mary Gaudioso, and Lauren Mucci; her stepson, Thomas Fitzsimons; and her eleven step grandchildren, Michael Rowan, Kelly Gordon, Amy Rowan, Jay Dicksteian, Petra Volinski, Alice, Timothy and Eamon, Fitzsimons, Stephen and Melissa Mucci; and four step great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers, Walden and Thomas Woodruff; as well nieces and nephews, Carley Botex, Ashley, Chad and John Woodruff.

Funeral Information

Graveside services will be held on Friday, November 25th at 11:00am at Wooster Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
