Rose (Showah) Steck, 67

of Bethel, died peacefully at Danbury Hospital, September 4, 2004. She was the wife of Charles A.Steck III.
She was born in Danbury October 27, 1936, a daughter of the late Louis and Virginia (Kozam) Showah and was a lifelong area resident. She graduated from Danbury High School in the class of 1955.
Rose worked for 30 years at Steck's Nursery in Bethel alongside her sister-in-law Joyce Ferris, running the Gift Store, Christmas Shop and Ladies Night. Rose loved and worked for her church, St. George's Orthodox Church in Danbury. She also was on the Boards of the Bethel VNA and the Salvation Army in Danbury and was a member of the St.George's Ladies Society.
Besides her husband, she is survived by he daughter, the light of her life, Rachel Gross and her husband Douglas, of Bethel; two beautiful granddaughters, Renae Maria and Samantha Rose; two sisters, Lillian Gramesty and her husband Albert, of Bridgeport; Laurice Berry and her husband Carl, of Bethel; a brother, George Showah, of Danbury; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Samuel Showah.

The funeral will be held at St. George's Orthodox Church, Kohanza St. Danbury, Thursday at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery,Bethel.
The family will receive friends at the Bethel Funeral Home, 215 Greenwood Ave., Bethel, Wednesday, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.
A Trisagion Service will be conducted at the funeral home at 8:30 p.m
