Reggie Zurinskas was honored with a Sports Award by the Danbury Old Timers at the annual dinner on September 25, 2005. Renowned for his golfing accomplishments, Zurinskas won the Ridgewood CC Caddie championship in 1954, was a member of the DHS Golf Team in 1955, and from 1957-59 played on the Villanova Division 1 Golf Team. In 1965 and 1966, Zurinskas was the Club Champion at Ridgewood Country Club. During the 1965 tournament, Zurinskas set the course amateur record with a 66. From 1973 to 1975, Zurinskas was the Simsbury Amateur Champion, in 1992 he won the Connecticut Senior Amateur Championship, and in 2002 he won his sixth Simsbury Farms Senior Championship. As a volunteer, Zurinskas served the Town of Simsbury Golf Recreation Committee form 1985-97, and was a member of the Executive Board of the New England Public Golf Association.
