Nancy Ivansco Gallagher

Nancy (Ivansco) Gallagher, a resident of Millbrook, Alabama was born in Danbury, daughter of the late Kathryn Bates Ivansco and Emil Kalman Ivansco. She passed away unexpectedly at home on Thursday, August 6, 2015 at the age of 77. She had worked for the Bethel Middle School as Administrative Assistant/Secretary to the Principal, retiring after 16 years. On May 29, 2002 she was honored with "The Pillar of Bethel" award by the Bethel Public Schools for individual exemplary efforts to go above and beyond expectations to improve the school and was recognized as a role model for others. Following her retirement she moved to Alabama to be with family. In addition to being a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother, she enjoyed time with her family, dancing, Nascar and the beach. She was loved by all. Nancy is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Alan and Lori Mendes; daughters, Lisa McNeil and Susan Mendes; grandchildren, Carie (Neil) Forlastro, Alyssa McNeil, Amanda Tucker, Jeremy (Kaitlyn) Barata, Ashley (Adam) Beers and Kara Mendes; great-grandchildren, Jaxon, Jordan, Kimora, Ashari and Jace; brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Gladys Ivansco; nieces, Kristine (Tom) Reitz and Lynn (Joe) Billetta; great nephew Matthew Reitz and great niece Madison Reitz. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the charity of choice . The family will receive friends at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main Street, Danbury, CT on Saturday, September 5th between the hours of 3:00 pm and 5:00 pm with a memorial service beginning at 4:15 pm.
