![]() She was born in Danbury, on December 2, 1937, the daughter of Hazel (Schwager) and Dr. Charles McKevett. A residence of New Ipswich, N.H. since 1979, she previously resided in Westfield, N.Y., and Media, Pa. She was a graduate of Danbury High School in the class of 1955, and obtained a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Colby College in French literature with a minor in art, and she was a member of the Tri - Delta Society. She married W. Ronald Grolljahn, currently of Merrimack, N.H.; in 1959. A dedicated mother of four, she provided her children with steadfast love and guidance. Artistically, Mabelle worked in many mediums over the years, most recently in pastels, and always in her gardens. A devoted friend, Mabelle will be remembered by many for her kindness and humor. Surrounded by her family, friends, and her beloved Labradors, she felt truly blessed. Most recently she was employed by ERAQ Masiello Group as a real estate agent/broker, and she was a member of Contocook Valley Board of Realtors. She is survived by her son, Matthew Grolljahn, of Weare, N.H;, two daughters, Hazel Hensel, of Hancock, N.H., and Catherine Gibson, of New London, N.H.; four granchildren, Aaron and Hannah Gibson, of New London, N.H., and Eric and Samantha Hensel, of Hancock, N.H. She also leaves behind her special friend, Preston Samuel of Newmarket, N.H. She was preceded in death by a son, E.Ronald Grolljahn in 1981, and a brother, Charles McKevett. Family and friends are welcome to attend calling hours today from 5 - p.m., at Jellison Funeral Home, 25 Concord Street, Peterborough, N.H. A memorial service will be held on Friday, September 2, 12:30 p.m., at the Cathedral of the Pines, 10 Hale Hill Road, Rindge, N.H., with Rev. Bonnie C.Evans, pastor of the First Congregational Church of Salem, N.H., officiating. Interment is private.
