Joan
L. O'Hara Joan L. (Webster) O'Hara, died Monday, July 28, 2008
of natural causes while visiting her son and daughter-in-law
in San Antonio, Texas. Mrs. O'Hara's visit was in anticipation
of the impending birth of a granddaughter, Brigit Olivia, expected
within the next few days. She and her husband, James, shared
a home on Lake Conroe in Willis, Texas, where she had served
a number of years on the Board of Directors of the Property Owner's
Association. She was the daughter of the late William G Webster
of Broadalbin, N. Y. and the late Elizabeth O'Connor Webster,
a long time resident of Danbury. Joan attended Main Street and
Locust Avenue Schools and graduated Danbury High School, Class
of 1955. She trained as a nurse at the New York Foundling Hospital
in New York City prior to her marriage to James E. O'Hara of
Bethel, November 22, 1956. She and her husband resided for a
time in Schenectady, N.Y. before moving to Houston, Texas in
1968. Joan attended San Jacinto Junior College and University
of Houston while raising two sons James III and John (Jack).
Her son, James III, preceded her in death in 2002. She had several
careers, in addition to being a homemaker, notably in banking
and healthcare management. She was a cancer survivor being 19
years free of the disease. In addition to her husband, James,
she is survived by a son, John M. (Jack), daughter-in-law, Sophia;
grandchildren, Joshua James, Dameon and Mikaela of San Antonio;
brother, John Roy Webster and wife, Lorrain of Newing-ton; daughter-in-law,
Monique M. O'Hara of Magnolia, Texas; sister-in-law, Lorin A.
O'Hara of Niskayuna, N.Y., brothers-in-law Thomas C. and David
K. O'Hara of Ft. Worth, Texas; sister-in-law, Scarlett and husband,
Jay of Homewood, Ill.; and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial
service will be held at St Mary's Catholic Church in Bethel at
a future date to be announced. She will be interred in the family
plot at St Mary's Cemetery, Bethel next to her son, James III
