Jeanie Grolljahn Gulliver Smith

Jeanie passed during the violent thun- derstorm Wednesday morning, April 22, 2009 with her beloved daughter, Lori Gulliver-Smith at her side holding her hand. In addition to her daughter, she leaves behind her son-in-law, Greg P. Smith; step-grandson, Cole P. Smith; brothers, W. Ronald Grolljahn and wife, Judith, David Grolljahn and wife, Gail; sister, Ellen Eva Surprenant and husband, Alfred; one of her best friends and father to Lori, R. Jack Gulliver, Jr.; and her faithful canine companion, Diva. Jeanie was born on February 13, 1938 in Danbury to the proud parents of Helen Murray Grolljahn and E. Ronald Grolljahn. She lived her past 30 years in Bethel and has spent many memorable days with friends and family at her home on Cape Cod. She was best known for her vibrant personality and giving nature. Jeanie was a dog lover, nature lover, hospice volunteer, dedicated mother, daughter, sister, and friend. Anyone that knew her loved her and she brought laughter and joy to everyone. Friends and family are invited to gather in The Green Funeral Home, 57 Main Street, Danbury, Thursday, April 30th from 6 to 8 p.m. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. Peter Church, Friday, May 1st at 10:30 a.m. Flowers will be accepted in The Green Funeral Home or donations can be made in her honor to Regional Hospice of Western Connecticut, 405 Main Street Danbury, CT 06810.
