Special Services: A life celebration for friends and family is planned at a future date and location to be determined. Gary G. Kennen Greenville, NY & formerly of Stony Brook, NY Mr. Gary G. Kennen of Greenville, NY and formerly of Stony Brook, NY died Wednesday, May 28, 2014 at home. He was 76. He was born July 8, 1937 in Danbury, CT the son of the late Wesley S. and the late Eleanor Harkins Kennen. Gary married Juliana Peirsel 54 years ago on June, 25 1960 in Ramsey, NJ. A graduate of Danbury High School in 1955, Gary received a B.A. from the University of Connecticut and an M.S. from Stony Brook University. He worked as a Scientist, Arborist, Sanitarian, and later as a small business owner specializing in sustainable energy products. He was a member of The Coleopterists Society, The Entomological Society of America, The Nature Conservancy, and the National Audubon Society. A family statement read: Gary was a loving husband, father and grandfather, a naturalist, and an avid outdoorsman who loved photography, birding, and collecting insects. A mentor to many, Gary will be best remembered by his family, friends and colleagues for his remarkable ability to engineer and construct or fix just about anything in his home workshop. Surviving are: Wife: Juliana Kennen at home. Son: Roderick Kennen & his wife Nicole. Son: Jonathan Kennen & his wife Barbara. Son: Christopher Kennen & his partner Mike. Son: Stephen Kennen & his partner Debbie. Daughter: Juliana Hamilton & her husband Edward 2 Brothers Roderick & Hugh Kennen 3 Sisters: Karen, Luanne & Wendy 8 Grandsons and 1 granddaughter Also several nieces and nephews 2 Brothers-in-law: Thomas & Michael There will be no visitation and funeral services will be private.
