Alma Voitko Leavy

 Alma Voitko Leavy died Nov. 12, 1998, at the New Milford Nursing Home at the age of 61.
She was born in Danbury on June 8, 1937, daughter of the late Michael J. and Reatha M. (Lee) Voitko and graduated from the Danbury High School class of 1955. Mrs. Leavy lived in Brookfield until 1958 and then moved to South Salem until 1989 when she returned to live in Brookfield. She was employed as housekeeper and care giver for many local area families.
She was a member of the Advent Christian Church and the Choir Director and Organist at the Church. She was also a member and organist of the Beaver Brook Chapel. She served as Volunteer for the Vista New York Woman's Auxiliary Volunteer Fire Dept. and the Woman's Home and Foreign Mission Society. Mrs. Leavy also volunteered at The New Milford Nursing Home as recreation director and music coordinator.
She is survived by two sons, Stephen N. of South Salem, NY, Son M. of Ridgefield, CT; three daughters, Julie A. Gibbs of Southington, CT, Bonnie M. Leavy-Mello of Norwalk, CT and Jeanne S. Cote of Torrington, CT; 8 grandchildren, Allan and Andrew Gibbs, Ted Mello, Tracy and Kelly Leavy, and Allison, Bryan and Heather Cote; one niece and one nephew.
Funeral services will be held at the Brookfield Funeral Home, 786 Federal Rd., Brookfield on Monday at 1 p.m. with Ray Harold Quigley officiating. Burial will be in Central Cemetery, Brookfield. Friends may call at the Brookfield Funeral Home today from 4 - 8 p.m
