MaryAnn "Cookie" (King) Cyr, 79, of Danbury, CT, passed away unexpectedly on November 12, 2017 at Danbury Hospital surrounded by her loving family. MaryAnn was born on April 27, 1938 to the late Lena (Pobega) King and Martin Joseph King in Brooklyn, NY. She attended St. Peter School and was a 1955 graduate of Danbury High School. MaryAnn married Richard William Cyr, her high school sweetheart, and together had four children. MaryAnn worked at the Danbury Post Office until her retirement in 1993. She was predeceased by her husband Richard, and her beloved son Richard Martin Cyr. She is survived by her three daughters, Vera "Pudgie" Cyr Delohery of Danbury, Donna Lynn (Jerry) Ferrone, of Vero Beach, FL, and MaryAnn Cyr, of Danbury; five grandchildren, Tommy O'Neil, Katie O'Neil, Caitlin Delohery, Danny Chinchar, and Taylor Garcia, who was her primary caregiver; five great-grandchildren; and cousin Robert DeFortuna of Danbury. There will no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in honor of MaryAnn at St. Peter Church on Thursday, November 16, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. MaryAnn was an avid animal lover. In lieu of flowers, any donations can be made to your choice of animal shelter.
