Joan
R. Nelson, 74, of Brook field, beloved wife of Ralph C. Nelson,
died peace fully at Danbury Hospital on Sunday, July 1st. She
was born in Danbury on March 14, 1938, daughter of the late Stanley
and Antonina (Kosteczko) Tumasz. She was a graduate of Danbury
High School. Joan worked as an accountant for Allen and Tyransky
in Danbury. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She
enjoyed traveling, cooking, gardening, and was an avid reader.
She also loved animals. In addition to her cherished husband
of 21 years , Ralph, she will be sadly missed by her daughter,
Andrea Tollkuehn and her husband, Ralf; her stepchildren, Timothy
, Brian, and Debbie Nelson; and her grandchildren, Jenna and
Ethan Nelson. She was predeceased by her brother, Peter B. Thomas;
and her sisters, Helen Luneau, Mary Olmstead, and Hedvika "Irene"
Demo. A Memorial service will be held at Prince of Peace Lutheran
Church, Brookfield, on Saturday, July 7th at 11:00am. The family
will receive friends at the church between the hours of 10:00
and 11:00am. Memorial Contributions in her memory may be made
to the American Cancer Society , or Danbury Animal Welfare Society.
